Time until departure for Tignes from JFK:

Ski Tignes / Val d'Isère France

Tignes has excellent snow all season long due to its high-altitude slopes on the La Grande Motte Glacier. From Tignes you have access to all 300km of skiing in the Espace Killy, without the premium prices of Val d’Isère.

Tignes is a world-class resort made up of five small villages. Tignes is high in the magnificent Savoie Alps. It’s got guaranteed snow, a lively après scene and some of Europe’s best slopes. Tignes is an ideal resort for groups as there’s a busy après scene with many bars and restaurants to choose from.

Tignes is one of the best ski resorts to come to for a long, snow-sure season. The main resort on the edge of Le Lac sits at an altitude of 2100m above sea level, and the lower villages still boast altitudes of 1550m and 1850m. Above all of this is the Grande Motte Glacier, which rises to a lofty 3450m.

The old village of Tignes disappeared beneath the waters of the Lac du Chevril when the valley was dammed in 1952. Now the resort is made up of many smaller purpose-built villages at varying altitudes, with Tignes-Le-Lac generally classed as the main village of Tignes. The entire resort is built around the needs of the skier, so there is never a lift too far from the front door of our resort hotel.

The men's downhill, super-G and giant slalom of the 1992 Albertville Olympic Winter Games were held on the Face de Bellevarde in Val d'Isère.
