History of the Danbury Ski Club


Danbury Ski Club was founded in 1955. Its stated purpose was to "encourage participation in the sport of skiing and related activities". Today, after nearly 70 years our Club promotes skiing and snowboarding and runs multiple group trips to top ski resorts around the wor. Danbury Ski Club is a 501 c (7) non-profit organization. Meetings are typically held on the 1st Thursday of the month at the Danbury Elks Lodge - 36 Sugar Hollow Road, Danbury, but can move date or location. Mad Hatter Ski Slopes was located in Danbury, CT on the present day site of Tarrywile Park. Here's a photo dated 1955; the year the Ski Club was founded:
